Guerrilla Marketing Techniques

Guerrilla marketing techniques refer to a diverse range of unconventional marketing methods which are usually free or low cost to implement, although there is often an investment in your time in implementation. Some examples include staging publicity stunts worthy of newspaper coverage, putting bumper stickers on your car or anywhere else visible or emailing out a really interesting article with your web address on which everyone wants to pass on.

If you have a small business you have to be more careful than most to ensure your marketing investment works for you and so you need to be open minded and creative to get the most from time and money.

As with any marketing strategy you need to go back to the basics and know your product, target market and image you want to portray – not all of these unconventional marketing methods will work for you. For example running naked round a football pitch with your website tattooed on your back may be creative and get you some great publicity, but it might not do the reputation of your business any good!

Also whilst many guerrilla marketing techniques may be low on monetary investment some require a high input of time.
