How To Connect Facebook To Twitter

I learned how to connect Facebook to Twitter because all this social media marketing can take up so much time. The advantage of doing this is that everything you “tweet” will appear on your Facebook wall so keeping your Facebook friends and fans up to date with what's going on in your business.

You can also use the same technique to update your LinkedIn profile as well.

I take the process one step back in that I update Twitter from my blog using Google Feedburner and then supplement with further tweets directly this means that I'm maxing out on the possible automation and so keeping the time that I allocate for social media marketing under control.

For some businesses you may not have a website and you simply work from a Facebook business page and in this case any update to your Facebook page in effect becomes a blog post. If you are operating like this then there's a very easy way to ensure that any Facebook updates are automatically tweeted and that's to use this link.

Should you have more than one Twitter account, you can even set up so that individual Facebook pages update their respective Twitter accounts.

Note that this facility doesn't reciprocate ie. if you are tweeting, this application doesn't update your Facebook page.

To allow Twitter to update Facebook, follow the procedure below:-

  1. Open a browser tab and log into your Facebook personal page.
  2. Open a new browser tab and log into your Twitter account
  3. Click on this link which opens another tab
  4. Follow the instructions and "allow" access (note that you have the option to change Twitter accounts)
  5. Check the boxes for the Facebook pages that you want Twitter to update.

Unfortunately at the time of writing you can only connect one Twitter account to your Facebook page(s) so if you happen to operate two businesses each with a Facebook page and a Twitter user ID, you cannot connect both.
